lesMay 6, 2009 (Portland, Ore.) - Portland radio station KINK FM (101.9 FM, CBS) is paying tribute to Les Sarnoff, the beloved longtime on-air personality on the eclectic station. On May 17th KINK will host a “Les Sarnoff Memorial Concert” at Pioneer Courthouse Square, in the heart of downtown Portland. The public celebration begins at 5 p.m. with blues luminary Curtis Salgado, plus performances by Patrick Lamb, Tom Grant and many more.

KINK Program Director Dennis Constantine has been going through old airchecks to put together a CD of essential Les Sarnoff to sell at the concert to help cover hospital bills for the family. Sarnoff died April 17 after a battle with cancer. Those wishing to pay tribute to Sarnoff are encouraged to donate to several charities, including the Oregon Humane Society and the Oregon Food Bank. A full list of charities can be found at the KINK website.
